Nashville--The Trinity Lane area of North Nashville has been selected as the site for the construction of an elegant combination of mixed income housing, retail space and ample footage for a corporate headquarters site.
The Trinity Lane Development Group, Inc. headed by Jamie D. Isabel, Sr. will be acquiring nearly six acres on Trinity Lane located about three miles North of downtown near the intersection of I-65 and I-24. The proposed “Talbot’s Corner Flats” located at the New Gateway at Talbot’s Corner, a $50 million development, is designed as a live, play, work concept. The project will offer mixed income housing among its 220 apartments, office space and ground level retail housed in two seven story modern buildings. In addition, there will be a 7500 square foot building for a corporate headquarters or data center.
The two seven story buildings will occupy approximately 700 feet of frontage along Trinity Lane approximately 1,025 ft from the interstate. Fourteen affordable townhouses will also be built on the property. Groundbreaking for construction is anticipated in the Spring of 2020.
In announcing the project, Isabel said, “I am excited about this new development and look forward to returning this area to its former years as a vibrant business corridor. Nashville has changed for the better and the Trinity Lane embraces this change for a brighter future. “The Talbot’s Corner Flats” will be a welcoming addition for new and current residents and visitors to enjoy.”
Isabel and group will acquire the property from the Jack Cawthon family and was known as the historic Talbot-Haynes community. Thomas Talbot purchased 300 acres and planted 1000 apple trees eight years before Nashville was founded in 1779.
William Hayes, born into slavery in 1850, made his way to this area after a gift from his father-who property purchased at what is now West Trinity Lane and Whites Creek Pike. Haynes added to his property holdings until he owned the majority in the area bearing his name.
Haynes was an incorporator of Citizens Bank and American Bible College. Haynes Middle School sits on property donated by Haynes.
